    Newbe

I just bought a Shoptask 17-20 XMTC I have never owned a lathe or a 3 in 1 machine. I am a Newbe to the machine, machining and the forum.

Can anyone give me advice on where to get info on how to set it up and make sure it is alined correctly. Also, where is the best place to get information on basic Machining.

Try this link for your set-up:

And these videos from MIT are pretty good to learn some basics. And they're free to watch too!

    http://techtv.mit.edu/genres/24-how-...machine-shop-1

I think there's 10 total videos in the series.

There's also some good vids available from The Little Machine Shop if you want to drop about $40 a piece for them. I haven't actually watched any of the vids from LMS, but I'm sure they go into more detail than the MIT vids.

    Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for your help, I purchased the book Precision Rifle Rebarreling by John Stranahan. Very interesting reading and it gives all the information on realining the 17-20.

    Thanks again
