    OT and painting my machine

OT just like a lot of other posts around here
Whoa, it sure is quiet around here, I think I'll sneak a post in while nobody's looking. Got the flame for being new and having a low post count. Looks like you need about 178 posts to be a Group Leader around here, and get some respect.
I've been having these images in my head about how this here forum operates. If you don't mind I'd like to share them with you.
Like I said I'm in here all alone, nobody's been here for days, it's dead silent. I can hear my footsteps echoing off the walls. I write this here post and hit the Submit Button. Just then all hell breaks loose, Bell and whistles start going off. Virtual men start sliding down a Fireman's pole, one after the other,” battle stations, battle stations“ aahh ooo gahh
If norvil1 or digitalmdj are posting-------------send in the swat team
If it's a noob-----------------------------send in the used car salesman
If it's only me, Flathead---------------------------send in the cleaning lady, to sweep me off my feet.
It's only laughably obvious, guys. That line fits good. Somebody here said it but I don't remember who or I would give em credit.
    Just having some fun.
    Hey, here's a rare find:
A Quote in pristine condition, only used once and still in it's original form
( because I'm honest ) (spaces removed to save space)

    Smallblock,
When have extra donuts, We donate some to the church.
They sell them at Las Vegas night and at bake sales. The old farts really love them.

    Hi Joey,
I visited your great city of LasVegas in 1998. Three days and three nights of PAARTYYY. You know the saying, what happens in vegas stays in vegas,. That also applied to my money. Glad I bought a round trip ticket./ When I got home all I had to eat was stale donuts till the next payday.
I hope the head honcho didn't spank you for giving away the location. Major tactical error.
    Just having some fun.
    Now on topic.
I've been cleaning on the cnc knee mill. Cleaned the sump, yuk. Found chips where no chip should be. Thats what happens when air is used to clean a machine. I pulled the covers, actually wallmart barbecue covers work great, off my two 3in1's.
Going to clean them up too. Give em a mask job and spray all three my favorite color ”dark machinery gray” to match the rest of my collection. Any you guys have a gray 3in1.

Thats all I got today. From what I read you guys have a GREAT sense of humor so you can take a joke.
(I say this stepping back and zipping up my flameproof suit.)
    Good Luck, Flathead

    Donuts and money

OK. I guess this means JoeyB owes smallblock a bag of donuts. I still want my bag of money.

I never use compressed air to clean a lathe or mill. It blows the chips into areas where they can cause excessive wear. Also, if the air pressure is too high, the chips can embed in an eye if you aren't wearing side shields. I use brushes and paper towels. It's slow but gets the job done.

I agree, It would have saved me a lot of work if the previous owners would have used your method to clean my cnc knee mill.
    Good Luck
