    Will,
The choice depends on the size of your lathe.
I believe the BXA is for 13" and smaller, the AXA for larger.

I bought one from JT for my 1720 machine and kept it to use on the Patriot. Give him a call to see if he still has them in stock.

The AXA 100 is the size to get. The problem is JT cheeped out and probably gave you a metric compound slide like I received. On top of that the compound slide wont work with my quick change tool post. Also they didn't send it with the protractor so I could mount it to the table it's mounted to the standard tool post . Try to find a compound slide that will work. I couldn't find one. It's all about getting you to buy more tooling from JT when he should have provided it in the first place. I am considering calling Smithy to get the correct compound slide. It seems they mounted theirs correctly in the first place.

Digitalmdj, I was JUST on a different thread about the Little Machine Shop, where you were complaining about them for 4 pages. It seems that all you know how to do is complain and moan about how everyone has cheated you in some way.

This site is called cnczone.com not digitalmdjspersonalcomplainzone.com

Well you should have seen the 4" 6 jaw chuck I ordered from the little machine shop. It wont grab any material over 1" round. The jaws are not designed correctly. I had to use the old chuck until the new bison chuck arrives. It doesn't pay to cheap out on the tool post or chuck. Some one need to start sell quality stuff for the mini lathes and forget about the Chinese junk.

Years ago, a bunch of us used to stop at a diner for coffee each morning, It was a deal that just sort of evolved on its own, since we all headed off to various jobs about the same time. There was one guy who complained about everything. Weather, politicians, banks, auto mechanics, plumbers- you name it and he complained about it. If the sun was out he said it was too dam* hot- If it was cloudy it was to dam* cold. I swear if someone gave him a new Cadillac, he would cry if the tank was only 3/4 full. Finally we got fed up and slowly started drifting off to other places to get our coffee. It was too bad that this one guy ruined a pleasant morning for everyone else. Nowadays with the internet and these forums, guys like that get to ruin things for people all over the world- what progress!

If you continue to sell junk I am going to tell people about it. If you don't like that I suggest you find another profession. If you want to leave be my guest. But here no one will miss you.

little machine Shop sells a lot of low cost Chinese products mostly aimed at those 500.00 mini lathes. Anyone with a 3 digit IQ would know what they were buying.

Nobody is "ruining" anything for me.... In fact, I look curiously just for amusement when ever "somebody" posts complaints.
It is a shame you let that "one" chase all of the coffee group away instead of returning comments such as..."Frank(random name), what are you going to complain about today?" Or, "Gee Frank, today we are having a "complaint free" morning with our coffee...sit over there if you can't control your thoughts." ....I don't know, maybe you(your group) spent all your fun with this "Frank" and you really got tired of each other and thus grew apart.
..just seems weird that you allowed one guy to control YOUR actions causing you to move.

I remember a similar coffee shop I went to every morning to sip(or gulp) the coffee among a group....one guy would always come in and start cracking jokes....you know, the dirty kind that would make the waitresses cringe...not really funny. He would move on when nobody responded to his jokes..and everyone would chuckle about the character and continue conversation.

Believe me we tried all those tactics and more, but this guy, much like the guy on this forum was oblivious to the fact that he irritated everyone around him. There used to be a good metalworking form on the Rec.Crafts forum and the same thing happened over there- it was sort of commandeered by a few guys with their own agendas- politics, religion etc. and it eventually died out.
