Are the motor pulleys pressed in place?

Maybe this seems like a simple question. When I bought my 1720 Gold used and in pieces, my mill motor was off of the machine and the pulley was just sort of stuck on part way. No key in place. I pulled it off fairly easily, there aren't any set screws. So is this pulley just pressed to the proper position with the key?

If someone who has done this please post the steps for installing the pulley properly, that would make my day. I also need to buy a key, I assume these are standard to the slot size?

    TIA,
    Grego

JT at shopmaster said they were pressed on.
I have a Tri Power Eldorado. One of the pulleys is about 1/4 inch to high. I called Shopmaster and was told to take a soft hammer and drive the pulley down. I vision driving the shaft out the other side of the motor. I am going to take my motor apart and put the shaft in the press. I know this way I wont damage anything.

If you need to move it a little bit, try a piece of pipe or tubing against the pulley and tap it with a hammer. Use a press if the pulley is completely off the motor. You can also use a hammer if you support the fan end of the armature shaft on something like a socket. This will prevent damage to the rear bearing or housing. Never hammer directly against the pulley, as they are cast iron and can crack.

You will need a puller to remove it and then heat it up and then reinstall it . This way you can slide it into place safely. You will damage it otherwise because it is to tight to move. You will need to heat it hot enough to expand the pulley so it will not grab the shaft before it is in position. Or you can machine it for a slip fit like it should be in the first place.
