Hi everyone, So I checked the runout on my mill splindle today and I'm getting a little under .001 at one inch from the collet. Has anyone else checked this? I guess it's *okay* but I was hoping for better. I'm using lyndex collets which are supposed to be ground to--.0002 I think. Reason I ask is that I was considering a R8/ER40 collet holder, but this will put the tool a lot further from the spindle, and I presume will have even greater runout as a result of the distance. Anyone else have data? |
