I have a shopmaster 2000 without quadralift ... and would love to
convert it. Any half done conversions or unstarted kits out there.
Thanks
Mike

IMHO, the QuadraLift is the difference between a Shoptask machine and any of it's competitors. It gives you a good 10" or so of adjustment for the milling head. I currently run mine up and down with an air ratchet, but I plan to put a garage door opener motor on it soon. I have a 2001 Shopmaster 2000 with the QuadraLift option and can't imagine using the machine without it...
Just my 2 cents...

quadralift is unaccurate ,vibrating, is simple dom tube with 3/8 and 1/4 up and bottom plates
Gotta agree 100%. The unit we had in the service was equipped with servos for X,Y,Z and also one on the quadra lift unit. We routinely used it for milling when the quill travel wasn't enough. When I mustered out, I bought a used machine with quadra lift and later added the tailstock support myself- that improved it even more.
That's exactly why I want one. I like to keep the mill work as close to the
quill as I can get it .. I even prefer using collets instead of endmill holders
although I use both to vary "reach". Being able to move the quill head up
and down would be soo cool.
I can't attest to its rigidity .. but .. I have never heard any complaints, especially after adding the fifth column (tail stock support).
I bought the very last one from Shoptask years ago and installed it. Without the 5th column, it was terrible. After adding the column it is great! Here is a link to my page on some mods if you haven't seen it before.

I have actually seen your setup. Don't mean to scare ya .. but .. your
setup is famous ... as it should be.
That is exactly what I am shooting for.
Check out this company- they are now producing a lot of the old Shoptask upgrades including the quadra lift, but upgraded to the full bridgemill design with 5th column.
