Hey fellow chip makers. Thanks for the help with my shrline. Now I want to upgrade my 1720XM shoptask. All I need are the stepper motors. What should I get? Or what do they come with when you buy them with the CNC option. Thanks!!! |

There's a lot more to it than just adding stepper motors! You also have to consider power supply, 3 servo's, mounts for the steppers, cogged belts, computer, monitor and finally software to name a few. Some things to think about plus lot of money or an empty credit card. LoL |

| I have everything but I just need the stepper motors and belts. I have the machine, the pulleys, the power supply, the drive, computer and monitor and software. I just wanted to know what they came with. I know they are a nema34 but what oness would be good for it. I am mostly using it to do mill work and some turning. |

| The Shoptask machines came with mounts for NEMA 34 motors, but you need to match the motors to the amperage of your drivers. A 3 amp driver would use a 400 OZ/IN motor range. A 7 amp like we have will run up to 1100 Oz/IN. Shoptask can probably supply you with the proper belts and pulleys or at least tell you what sizes you need. |
