| I think you want to have a depressed area (pocket) surrounding an area that is not? To do this, put both shapes on the same layer in your cad and it will take care of it by it self. The clue is to have a outside boundary for the the pocket and this may take some creative thinking on how your going to do this.

Bubba, thanks You are correct with regard to one island but Sheetcam doesn't seem to recognise two or multiple islands and treats them as pockets. Appears the way around the problem is to break it down to a single island. Mago |

| Some time ago, I did a pump impeller that had 6 "vanes" in it. It was done with a single pocket operation to produce the vanes. The attached picture (sorry not very good), shows the results. On separate layers, there was one each of the vanes and finish passes were made after the pocketing operation. HTH
