If anyone is using an old Isel router? I would welcome an opinion on the Kay software used for feeding Isel control boxes with remote code. Can it be used independently of the Galaad software for instance. Indeed if you are using an original Isel box I would be most grateful for your communication, as I would to fit some addons. Tool Z height pads etc. Thanks in advance.

Dune - Thank you for reply. Just finished hooking up the demo version and it runs and homes the machine perfectly.
Have you any knowledge about configuring the inputs and outputs on the back of the cabinet please?
Which input You want to configure?
Back there as i recall there are only 3 or 4 inputs. You configure them in "Machine" menu. in last page.unfortunatelly there is not to many functions that You can set.
Steryd - Apologies for not having investigated the Machine menu intelligently.
There are two output banks. One with 0 to 8 terminals and one with a 9 pin RS232. One input bank with 0 to 8 terminals.
I would like fit a Z axis tool sensor initially. Would be grateful if you have any guidance for setting this up.
Try to mark that Your machine is equipped with tool length sensor, then there 'll be defoult port number asigned. It'll be one of free inputs on the back connector and You can find it in manual or check it by connecting pins to .
When You connectYour tool probe You need to calibrate it before use.
Steryd - The machine did not come with a tool sensor. I will have to make one. Either a simple flat plate, tri-corner plate or spring plunger. The Kay software has full provision for a Z tool sensor, but no reference to the port number. The software "seems" a bit vague in this respect. But I am unfamiliar with it. - Hoping to discover otherwise as I gather more knowledge.
I'm not sure, but when i turn the mark on toolsensor option there already was asigned port number (yes i did install galaad from scratch).
Try to find manual for the controller. There should be informations about inputs location. And then You can connect Your sensor to machine.
Steryd - Do you ground the toolbit before contacting the tool plate please.
No. I have a sensor that uses simple limit switch and it's cover is grounded.
Steryd/Dune1982 - Just a line to thank you for your help. All up and running with new Kay licence and F360 3d files. Performing excellently so far. All original equipment.
