    Looking for advice

    Hi Guys

I am looking for a little help here that I really should know the answer to. One would think that after two years on this machine (my trusty 2412), I would know how to do this….but I don’t!
Lets say I have a very short run of only ten parts. Also, I have the full 10 tools loaded in the carousel. Then I find that my material is 0.010” different between each piece.

Is there a way to change my Z setting for all of the tools at one time as opposed to changing each individual tool setting? Sounds simple but I am baffled!

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Larry

You can change the Z offset in G54 or whatever Work Coordinate you are using.

Hello Larry Theres two way to do this

On the work off set page the page with the G54(00) G54 G55 G56 G57 G58 G59 offsets . The very Frist offset the G54 00 top left hand corner .Its different than the standard G54-G59 offsets If you adjust it .01 or -.01 it will shift ALL G54 -59 settings that amount .

So if your using G54 as you offset and you put another part in and it .01 smaller jut go to
G54(00) and highlight z and type in -.01 and press input every tool will cut .01 deeper

Another way you can do it is use G52 it does the same thing.
In your program add this line before the first z move

    G52 Z-.01

This will add .01 to your z depths and every tool will cut .01 deeper

    Hope this helps
    Tim

    Thanks Tim

Again, like two years ago, you saved the day. Thank you. I follow exactly what you said. I was in that screen just an hour ago and I see what you are saying.

    Very cool....again my thanks
