why auto shutoff?

I tried the auto shutoff feature on the oimc. All it seems to do is kill power to the servos. I have seen other machines (wire edm) shut all the way down.
What is the purpose of auto shut down that doesnt shut down the machine?

Dunno.... Never used it.
My Haas will auto power down and I know it shuts off completely but I honestly, didn't know the Sharp would do that.

All that I know is that it tried to give me a heart attack. I turned it on before thinking that it would shut the machine off when the part was finished - a nice feature if you want to try and run a little lights out without dumping a quart of way oil into the sump as it sits running over the weekend. Ran the part and nothing happened (turns out you have to power cycle the machine to get it to take effect). After the holidays it starts going into emergency mode after every part is run - WTF! Took a post on PM to finally get it straightened out and turned off. I won't do that again...
