Hi all, could you suggest motor size (hp), capacity (l/min) and storage tank capacity that is required for sharp 2412 can a 3hp, 150 l/min , with 90l capacity satisfy the requirement ? I don't want the compressor work all the time |

Please remember that you will be using air to blow chips etc. off your parts as you remove them besides the air the cnc uses. I have a Sharp SV2412 and use a 220 volt 2 cylinder 5 hp commercial compressor and it keeps up just fine but it runs a lot. I think your 3 hp may have trouble keeping up. |

| I too have an SV-2412. My compressor is a 5hp rotary vane with a 60 gallon receiver. The compressor is rated at 100% duty cycle and when I'm machining it runs more than it rests. In addition to the machine's air demands and blowing chips I'm using a minimum quantity lubrication system which uses additional compressed air.
