Default Source for replacement rubber wipers

    Hi,

We need to replace the rubber wipers on the X & Y axis covers of an SV-2412. I know that they are not available form Sharp. I was told that Sharp out sources the covers from Megus Int'l, but I have not found a source online for the wipers.
Does anyone know where to obtain replacement rubber wipers?

    Thanks,
    David

I know this is an old post but I'm replying for anyone who may need new SV-2412 wipers in the future.

I purchased 3 meters of wiper lip (the blue rubber) with the correct profile for $99.00 from BUWW in Dec, 2022. They were super responsive, they had what I needed in stock.

I pulled all the wipers and replaced just the rubber. It took me about 5 hours because I had to cut each individual wiper and many of them had a 45º miter. I pulled the wiper frames apart with pliers and pulled out the small alignment pins too. I used the aluminum wiper frames as a guide for a box cutter blade to get the proper angles and lengths. It was very easy, just time consuming. To access the top Z-Axis wipers, raise the Z-axis all the way until it throws a soft over travel alarm and access the wipers from the top of the VMC.

Why 3 meters? BUWW had a minimum order quantity. I'm good with that because I'll have plenty of material to make more wipers as needed.

$99.00, immediate availability, and extra material for future repairs from BUWW versus $600, a 3-4 week lead time, and one set of wipers per axes from Sharp. That was a huge win for someone just getting started.
