I am getting ready to solder up my fanuc servo motor encoders with dms3106a20-s9sw connectors. Do I need to take the individual pins out of the connector to solder them? I am concerned about heat damaging the blue plastic insulator. I popped the snap ring out of one unit, and it came right apart, but- with 17 pins each it is going to be a lot of work! |

| Thats the hard way. It is usually no problem soldering in place. One tip, start at the 'bottom centre' first, othewise starting at the A position blocks succeeding pins. I usually slip a short piece of heat shrink on first that will cover the pin afterward. Al.
