Mitsubishi AC servo encoder outputs?

I've got a small Mitsubishi AC servo motor model HC-KF43L-S1

Google search points to it being using in commercial industrial sewing equipment. It's got the standard 3 phase + ground for the motor and 9 wires coming off the encoder.

Wondering if anybody can give me a clue as to what wire is what?

Encoder has the numbers OBA17-052 and GAZ63 A A

Any help appreciated!

no luck so far and today called Mitsubishi tech support. They refused to help and told me the motor was only sold with the matching drive and wouldn't give me any other info.

Kinda makes me want to steer clear of Mitsu products.

Are the wires color coded, or is the circuit board visible?

If its a standard encoder you would be looking at: +5V, Gnd, A, -A, B, -B, I, -I, and maybe a shield/chassis.

That's it! those are exactly my encoders.

wires are colour coded.

yellow on pin 1 labled MR
Blu on pin 2 labled MRR
Org on pin 3 labled BAT
Gray on pin 4 labled MD
Wt on pin 5 labled MDR
Purp on pin 6
Red on Pin 7 labled P5
Blk on Pin 8 labled LG
Brn on Pin 9 labled SHD

Any help available on wiring? I can't read chinese.

Buy me a Beer?

If you are looking to use the motor on some other system you may be out of luck, Mitsubishi use a serial communication system, the MD/MDR and MR/MRR are the two channels.
BT or BAT is to allow for battery retention, LG is logic ground, P5 is +5v, and shield.

the s1 points it as a special
some specials i have here have 1 million pulses per revolution! no good for normal use. eg ose105 used on mitsubishi
like al says they are serial encoders not normal a+ a- etc.
however matched with the correct drive they are fantastic. you just have to watch what you buy.

Mitsubishi servo drive MR-E-70A

Greetings i have a MR-E-70A servo drive from Mitsubishi and i can't find a matching motor for it because indeed Mitsu uses serial encoders for feedback.
I also have an absolute 16bit serial encoder from Yaskawa 2048PPR
Does any one interfaced a serial encoder from another brand with a Mitsubishi
drive? Is there any chance that there might be any compatibility with the pulse trains?
My intention is to use the Yaskawa encoder with the Mitsubishi drive and a Yaskawa motor...
Any suggestions?
thanks

no yaskawa wont work with mitsubishi.
the yaskawa isnt a serial encoder. (and its way too low resolution compared to mitsubishi )
the mitsubishi drives check the parameters (motor type, size, inertia etc) programed into encoder via serial . if not correct will show encoder alarm.

but yaskawa drives are cheap on ebay

Hi Battwell!

Thought so...
I will probably try to find a servo/drive set than fooling around with compatibilities...
Thanks anyway!

Whether your intention the successful to use the encoder Yaskawa with the Mitsubishi Drive and a Yaskawa motor?

thanks
