    Angry YASKAWA USAGED-09AS1 SERVO MOTOR

After a phase failure in the power supply to my Kitamura CNC Milling Machine error codes 3181 abso pos error (x), 3161 abso error (x), 3100 servo alarm and 3081 pg error (x) appear on screen when I switch the maxchine on. After a 3 hour visit by a service engineer I am told a new motor has to be fitted as the encoder is faulty at a price of £3,000 pounds!!!!! He says the motor (which checks ok) and encoder are one sealed unit and cannot be separated or repaired. Any body had the same problem, is there a way round it. Many thanks in advance.

Call Yaskawa service they will tell you what you can do most likley they will repair it if the motor is good

The motor you have has a tapered output shaft & a 8192 pulse absolute encoder you may even find one on Ebay

I have a PDF file on that series motor I could not load it here it is to big, if you want it PM me your email
