Huge DC Servo motor

Hows that for a Motor

I used it to test my Viper 250 drive. It was sent to me by a customer in AZ with a big massive Lathe.

Thats a Keling Size 34 next to it. It weighs a good 120 lbs.
The big motor is rated at 180 volts @ 40 amps cont (300 peak)

I'm running it directly off the line with a rectifier and Cap @ 170 vdc.

I mounted a US digital 1000 line diff encoder

I don't recommend running motors this big with a Viper 200/250 but he at least he has his lathe moving now with these. Not to the motors full potential but 150 in/min.
