Allen Bradley Ultra 100 drive with non Allen motor?

Any one have experience driving a non allen bradley servo motor with a Ultra 100 drive?

The biggest obstacle is knowing what commutation method is on the encoder, Mitsubishi use a couple, one common one of which is a serial code method.

I agree with Al compeltly.

I'd also comment that for $1,250 - $1,400 you can get yourself a more modern and more powerful motor than something like that you've linked to. You can specify the mounting face and get it properly sized to make things really easy for you!

Typically servo motors and drives are best purchased and sized together.

I'm not buying a old motor for $1k. The machine I have has the same motors. Guess easiest route is to get Allen Bradley motors and call it a day.
Al, were would be place to look for more specs on that motor? I looked on meau.com did see it.

If you can get the number off the encoder, I have some Mitsubishi motor information.
That ebay listing is a ridiculous price for a used motor, it is very close to Mitsubishi new price.
