OK, We'll bite because everyone knows Geckodrive has no sense of humor at all. :-)

Let's have a contest as outlined by ynneb; "run a competition and will give away a 3 axis servo setup to the best entrant who describes why he should win them."

We'll put up the drives; 3 G320s for 1st place, 2 G320s for 2nd and 1 lonely G320 for third place. The drives will carry the same warantee and support as purchased ($$$) drives.

Someone else (ynneb?, you brought it up so you are elected unless you designate someone else) sets the rules, judge the entries and awards the winner. For their trouble, the "judge, jury and executioner" of this contest gets 3 drives (G201 or G320; mix and match).

This is completely off the cuff so work out the details. Your part will be the hard one, we'll just will put up the drives. This should be fun.

Fantastic Mariss, i will happily set the comp rules up and judge the comp. I will speak to Paul about the running of the comp. I will make sure you get a good run for your money. I am glad you are a risk taker. I will make sure you dont regret it. I will get back to you soon.

Aw geez, I screwed up here. Re-reading the thread from begining to end shows Paul coming up with the idea of a contest. Please sombody offer a fair suggestion to my carelessness of reading of the thread. It really matters to me, I'll make it right for everyone.

    Hey,

I think this should be fun. I'm in for 9 drives, maybe more because I carelessly cut Paul out; it wasn't my intentenion and I will take care of it.

Just like you, I'm looking forwards to see what happens. Set up the rules, run a tough and fair cometition, award the prizes to the worthy ones. Your rules, your choice, you rule.

I have only one request and it's the only one I'll ever have on this contest. Please move this off of the Rutex forum. I honestly have no desire to cause anyone any embarrasement. Rutex is a good and worthy competitor to Geckodrive; they have always played fair. I do not wish to do anything that does them any harm or take advantage of them. This came up off the cuff this evening here but I think it should be moved. Maybe have a "contest" forum where others from time to time participate, I don't know.

This whole thing is meant to be in good fun. Make the rules tough, set the hurdles high. Geckodrive will put up the drives and we'll all see what people will do.

    Be crazy, do weird designs.

    Mariss

Paul, contact me. It was your idea.

Wow 9 drives....even better.....I dont think Paul would have worried since I was going hand the details over to him anyway. However I am still happy to participate in whatever way I can.

That sounds like heaps of fun.

I was thinking that if the competition was made to be interactive it might be more fun than merely just putting down the entrants name.
If the comp was put in a thread, the entrants could see each others work.

I was thinking that we could give a multiple choice of how a person could enter.

1:They could submit the best drawing of a gecko ( The lizard type) Either a cad drawing or a scanned hand drawing

2:The could tell a joke or a story about a gecko ( The lizard type )
    Or

3:they could describe the most outrageous use for a gecko drive

    Just a few ideas anyway

Not trying to slide anywhere, I will have to wait and see what the boss says. Until then I can only offer suggestions.

How Many Geckos' Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?

Same number it takes to "screw" outside a light bulb.....Two.

But don't ask me how they get in there.
