Hi, Would there be any reason not to use a servo from an RC plane (the more powerful ones) to drive a small CNC machine? Obviously remove the stops to allow it to continuously rotate. Maybe something like this (Although its not THAT strong, if the CNC machine was light enough, or would gearing help?) * Dimension : 40mm x 19mm x 43mm * Weight : 52g * Operating Speed : o 0.17sec / 60 degrees (4.8V no load) o 0.13sec / 60 degrees (6.0V no load) * Stall Torque : o 13kg/cm at 4.8V o 15kg/cm at 6V * Temperature Range : -30 to 60 Degree C * Dead Band Width : 4 usec * Operation Voltage : 4.8 - 7.2Volts * Motor Type: 3 Pole Ferrite * Potentiometer Drive: Indirect Drive * Bearing Type: Dual Ball Bearing * Gear Type: All Metal Gears * Connector Wire Length: 11.81 inch (300mm) |

| It can vary greatly, but usually 2000-6000rpm.

Basically there should be a high resolution/accuracy encoder to feedback position information, otherwise how to know where the motor angle is? regards HL www.dmm-tech.com |
