Any one using the Cliffton Servo's?

Just curious if anyone is currently using the cheap cliffton servos on a CNC project. How are they working for you? What power supply/encoders and servo drives are you using with them?
THanks!
BOb

I'm sitting on a set of them, and will be using them with rutes drives. I have crappy renco encoders that are not differential, and had to also buy a board to make the encoders usefull over long wire spans, that also was purchased from rutex. I would recommend using a diff. encoder from usdigital, if you don't yet have encoders.
I also have in the works a home made power supply to drive the servos as they require about 40~50vdc.
I am currently waiting on rutex for a few things, once I get them I will be able to bench test my set-up. Although I have learned alot along the way, I think next time I would buy a complete (powersupply to servos) off the shelf system to save on build time.

Renco make all kinds of configurations, including differential, I have had no problem with them so far.

I have three of these on my 48"x30"x8" Router that I built. I have them powered with a 36V Power supply and Gecko 320s. I'm using U.S. Digital encoders. I have had my machine running for 16 hours at a time. Very pleased with them.

Thank you.. price certainly is right. Did you mount the US Digital encoders directly to the servo motor ? Regarding the resister and capacitor mentioned on the Cliffton site...using them?

trubleshtr any reccomendations for an off the shelf system. I'm building a 48" X 60" Co2 Laser cutter for light duty.

Thanks, Craig.
