I found this servo controler, but being a bit rusty on the electronics and a newby at cnc conversion, I was wondering if it could sub. for the normal rs232 type control. And if so, could it interface with the cam programs on the market currently http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/data/usbb01.pdf web sight i got it from http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.as...&CategoryID=52 |

| I visited the link you posted. The type of servo that this USB control board is designed to control, is the type that is used in model airplanes and RC cars. It is great for low torque fast movement applications such as rudders, steering etc. It's not a good choice for CNC machining. |

| thanks. Thats what I thought, but was also wondering if this design or another could be modified to work (am brushing up on my electronics but will be awhile till i am capable of this). My reasoning being: all the newer computers are coming with usb ata serial and new architectures. Just want my computer running the machine to be a fairly new one! (this way its stay up to date longer!... at least for 2-3 weeks insted of out of date before plugging in . not to mention usb comunication speeds stomps the serial and i believe the parallel ports. |
