| A quick check is if the motor is a servo, it will have an encoder and possibly a tach connector on the rear, steppers generally speaking do not have an encoder fitted so it would be just connector for the coil windings. Many commercial amplifiers state the type of servo control it uses i.e DC brushed, DC brushless, AC etc. Al
