hellow. i'm new on cnc, i have a problem with Y sevo motors axis. the Y axis have two motors, Y and A. each time i try to jog with it, it do a sudden movement in its place and then stops, after the other axis X and Z refuse to jog. but if i don't try to jog with it, X and Z jog and home normaly. i cheched in mach slaving axis and the directions, everything is ok. also, ther's a huuumm sound coming from the Y axis motors, this sound stops just if i try to jog with this axis.and if i don't jog the soud continues and this Y axis motor becomes hot. result,no joging for all axis just when i try to jog with the Y. if anybody have an idea on what's going on or what i need to check plz help. thanks. |

| It would help if you gave us some more detail, like what type of servodrive this is. Anyway, it sounds as if the gain is set to high on the Y-axis drive so it is just on the border of breaking into oscillation. The humming sound and hot motor points in that direction. On the other hand it could be mechancial binding so the Y motor is blocked and can't move, then when you try to jog it it faults out due to following error. Try disconnecting the Y motor from the machine and see if it still faults out. |

| thanks a lot for replying. here's what i did to check what' wrong: first i unpleged the wire of the Y axis and try to jog,the X and Z once again jog normaly, no sound coming from the Y motors offcourse, but if i press the keys on the keyboard as if i want to jog with it, the X and the Z refuse to jog once again.it seems like they get a message that faults them even if the Y wires are unpleged. but if its wire are unpleged and if i also disable it in mach3, the other axis don't fault even if i press the key concerning the Y in the keyboard. also i tryed this: i tested the Y motor on the fly(not on the machine)i noticed that just after pluging it to power, without trying to jog with it from mach, it it starts turning without any huum sound and no heat.that explanes the sound. because in the machine, he's turnig without moving, the A motor on the other side of the table don't let him move, so it seems like he's turning in its place and that's what makes it become hot and make that sound. but till now i don't know what give him the signal to turn without touching anything in mach3. i tryed the same thing with the A motor, it's ok with it. let me add that A is slaved to Y. concerning the serviodrives, i got geckodrives on the controller box, one for each axis. i hope this is what you meant by servodrives. i hope also that you got an idea of all i said, thans again. |
