I would love an answer also.

I know stepper stuff, but servo has a STEEP learning curve.

Any primers out there for the servo beginner?

If you use a 4-1 timing belt reduction, you can use the Keling 1100 oz/in servo motors. Are the ball screws a 5 TPI screw ? Use a 1000-2000 line encoder.
He also sells some big enough powersupplys to run them.
My viper 100 drives a BOB and Mach 3 will run it fine.

I just bought from Keling Inc, good people, fast shipping, very happy. 4:1 will get you 150 ipm no problem, how fast did you want to go? Keling sells AC stuff, expensive though.

I say 4-1 because on a bridgeport there is a lot of mass and size 34 1100 oz/in motors would be a mismatch if coupled 1-1. Normally a bridgeport has much bigger motors.
When your machiining with heavy cuts there is a lot of torque required.
