servo driver for yaskawa

Dear all,

Now i'm trying to build my own cnc router, and I just bought the yaskawa motor (type SGMJV-04AAA61), but I found that its driver not so cheap, so i decided to use another driver. Is it possible to use another servo driver and matched with this motor?

Sorry you can´t use other drive. But Yaskawa is the best choice you ever made.

i think the mitsubishis may work, but these are not cheap either!
i will be trying a yaskawa 1.8kw servo with a mitsubishi drive tomorrow. i will let you know if there is a big bang or smoke.
i have to admit the small (200-400watt) yaskawas i have are fantastic!
omron is compatible with yaskawa too. they have a downloadable compatability list. if you want step/direction with either ensure you get a drive with P in the product number!!!!

ps. make sure you get the encoder leads or tails for connectors into drive... they are expensive!

I think the yaskawa encoder is diferent than Mitsubishi or Omron Motors. You can use a pair Yaskawa (Motor and Drive) for replacing Mitsubishi or Omron pairs. Be careful, I prefer do the effort and buy yaskawa for me is the best.
I put this driver in turning centers and machining center and for at least 8 years you have no problems. It´s expensive today but in time is cheaper than others.
Tell me what happend.

the omron drives are fine with yaskawa (same package, same plugs, same software etc) im using them together already.
type omron yaskawa compatability into google! the company is now omron yaskawa for servo drives. but make sure you buy either speed/torque or positioning as they are different!
