Pulse Coder Disconnect alarm | | On our Monarch VMC with Fanuc 15M control we are getting a "SV-015 Pulse Coder Disconnect" alarm. The operator had the pneumatic counterbalance pressure turned down which put most of the weight back on the head. He said this was the only way he could get the machine to run without faulting out. We raised the pressure back to specs and checked the torque on the screw and they were almost equal in each direction and the torque reading was within specs. With the pressure at specs and the head virtually free floating we were unable to move the head up or down without the control faulting out with the fore mentioned alarm. This machine was purchased used and we only have a few basic manuals. I was looking for some input as to where to go about troubleshooting first. Would the machine operate if the counterbalance was turned down if the pulse coder was bad or if there is a problem with the wiring?
Can the pulse coder be adjusted like an encoder or is it more likely a problem in the board. Thanks for your help. |
