This kind of "looks" like it could be used as a servo (if an encoder could be added, and a mounting flange). The price is way too high, but just as a reference, do you guys think this kind of motor would be suitable?

Should be suitable. It's reversible, has ball bearings, DC...

Since it's designed for a wheelchair it's quite likely designed to rotate faster in one direction than the other (to make reverse movement more controllable).
