I was wondering if anyone knew if pulse coders can be rotated like resolvers to get the machine to home. In my case the servo is on a strippit turret punch press with a gn 6 controller. I am trying to get the turret referenced correctly and i have done this on our other machine by turning the resolver, but am unsure how to do so on these servos with pulse coders. I believe these are what you call black cap motors as there is no colored cap like are red and yellow ones. The machine is from 87. Thank you for any info. Dustin |

| Encoders typically have a 1 pulse/turn signal that is used for reference, but generally it is easier to use a grid shift parameter, which effectively changes the position of the home point without having to adjust the encoder. I believe the GN6 is a similar control to the Fanuc 6. Early motors were Gettys or Siemens on many of these machines. Al.
