Problem- Yaskawa SGDA 08as

I have a complete setup of these servo packs.Yaskawa SGDA 08as, Yaskawa SGDA 04as ..however they are missing the motors. I understand they are pretty proprietary packs and will only work with Yashawa motors....I have cabling and a complete 4 axis controller.

My question is has anyone been successful using other servo motors and will this package integrate with Mach3. It has a galil controller card and older PC

The galil card if it is the right one can take step/dir siginals input so is ok for Mach the output will need to be +/- 10v to run the drives as for motors I have never tryed any other motor types but I would stick to the Yaskawa motors they are always on Ebay the motors that will give you the best torque are the SGM & SGMG The SGMP are ok to but have less in/ozs The servo motors have to be AC as well DC will not work with the drives you have

Thanks for the reply... I will check the card and get some info... I have several of the ISA galil cards in 1,2 and 3 axis configs. the ISA is the sticker...buss speeds are kinda slow for Mach3. But I would like to use the controller as I got it for a song. Guess its Ebay for a buying spree..

What is the controller you have as you don't need one the Galil can be connected straight to the drives

Actually I bought this at auction for $20. So I havent really gone much further than getting the info on the drives. This controller box was used in testing department and was hardly used at all in production. I havent investigated the motherboard but it look to be no larger than a Pent 1....

Sorry to bring up a old post but which galil board did or can you use with a yaskawa SGDA 04as?

Actually I didnt... I have tabled the use of the drives until I get servos that will work with these drives..
