hey everyone, I have a problem with one of my motors chattering when it changes directions, or if I stop the program, I was wondering if there is any fix for it? The axis that it runs is very smooth, and was actually wondering if that could possible be the problem "not enough constant load" as my other 2 have more load on them and do not have this problem. I'm running a MCG 33004 (1200 inlb) with a 250 line encoder, and a Geco G320. I have tried to turn the velosity down in Mach3, but then it takes forever to get the motor up to speed when its far enough to stop the chattering. I have had a fiew ideas with possible going with a 500 or 1000 line encoder, or possibly trying to tune the geco in a little better, but I really don't have the equipment to do that, and I would prefer not throwing any money out that might not fix anything. |

| I had a similar problem on one of my axis and found that my tuning procedure for the gecko was off. Did better job of tuning it and now works fine. I tune by "ear" and I found in my case the easiest way was to have it repeatedly do a G02 command and start tweaking. Pretty soon, it just fell into place and has worked great ever since.
