How about them ACPOS from B&R

Hej,

I'm building my cnc from scratch and was thinking to go with steppers, but recently I got hold of a few ACOPOS 1045 (B&R) from my work, together with some B&R servomotors. Naturally I'm thinking of switching to servos as theese drivers seems to be quite nice. Now, I have come to the conclusion that I need help from someone more into electronics than me if I am to switch to servos, but thats another problem. Scanning for ppl I know right now.

My main concern is if theese drivers might be to complicated to even try to figure out? I mean, do they need to be configured with a custom software etc? They seem to communicate by means of ethernet.

I guess my question is; is anyone familiar with theese and would you think that it's possible to get them up and running? Again, I know my self enough to realize I wont be able to, but I might find someone that can help me out.
