I am curious and let me say that I am a newbie in cnc controls. I have (4) SGDA-08AS SERVO DRIVES (4) ANAHIME MODEL 34D106S STEPPER MOTORS Now my question is can I control the steppers with the servo drives OR which would be better replaced? Both are in good working order. Both are obsolete. |

| Hi Blackbeard, It is impossible to use stepper motor with servo driver to link together.I know SGDA model is yaskawa servo-driver brand. What is your target? If you want to high torque for your CNC,you should use hybrid stepping motor better. It's cheaper than servo sets. It's easy to connect and maintenance.Pls have a look on sample at www.stepper3.com or contact me at mongkolnum@gmail.com directly Mongkol |

I happen to have those so I am trying to utilize what I have. My goal (like so many here) is to create a usable cnc with little budget. My table will be as large as I can afford to get by with. Ultimately a 4x8 because I need to route wooden door inserts that are 3x6 feet. I have a very nice drive / power supply cabinet with these controllers. So I guess I need a inexpensive alternative either in a complete package or utilizing the above specs that I have. I do not have a budget as I am completing it as pieces come my way. So far I have the frame for the table and am mounting the rails. So not very far yet. Cheap huh Bob |
