an oscilloscope as TTL signal source?

Hi I am a self learner and my question may sound clueless but I'll give a shot anyways.

    1.
Can I use an oscilloscope or any pulse generator as a pulse source to control any given servo controller with TTL TX RX port, as long as the oscilloscope or the pulse generator generate compatible and meaningful binary TTL pulse sequences?

    2.
Should the TTL communication be bi-directional? (the controller has TX and RX TTL port) In other words, does the oscilloscope also need to receive and acknowledge pulse coming from the servo controller board? Or would it work just fine in one-way?

    3.
Is it possible to daisy-chain multiple TTL-controlled boards under an oscilloscope or a pulse generator as long as each board is set to different address?

    Thank you in advance.
