Hi I just got myself 4 Sanyo Denki BL Super servos for free, inkl drives. I just briefly looked trough the manuals , and it looks like they can be used for positioning control by negative command pulses and positive, they also have encoders for feedback. Does anyone know if this equipment is possible to run under Mach 3? I am planning to substitude my steppers for these servos. They used to be controlled by an Omron PLC. | Hi Cory, I too have some old BL super drives, but no matching servos and no manuals or data. Where did you find the manual, and is there any way you could share it with me? Pinouts are a little too much to just guess in these things. I am also new to AC servos, so a little more information is probably safer than experimenting. Regards, Brian |

| Hi Uterhaus, Yes, I have Googled fairly extensively and also tried all I can see from Sanyo Denki's web. They seem to have all their current products quite well documented, but not this earlier equipment (no passwords or reg needed). I have some idea now from some printed Japanese language snippets I have found, but I can not yet be sure if I can feed this type of drive increment signals (like step/direction or step CW/CCW), or if it is purely a voltage in/Rpm out type of drive. It seems to have too much stuff not to be able to cope with position control, otherwise it is really a motor speed control, not a servo control in my opinion? I guess it could also have voltage-absolute position type signals for feedback, but all this is why I am chasing data. Regards, Brian. |
