I recently ran across some Pacific Scientific servos M# R32 GENC-R2-WS-NV-00 Went to pacsci.com and looked up the specs, but this is an area in which I have no knowledge, but learning slowly. It states 14 lb-in on the motor, so I guess this means around 224 oz-in. Looking to build around a 3 foot by 4 foot wood router and was wondering if these would be appropriate. I know it depends on a lot of other factors such as gantry size, construction material, etc., but was just looking for a little insight from others who have walked this road before. Also wondering if these would work with Gecko drives?

| the most important question first: no, they will not work with geckos. These are brushless ac motors with resolver feedback, which means you need a resolver feedback brushless motor drive. PacSci, API, and others make a drive that will work with these motors. This is an issue that will take you some work unless you get lucky and find the appropriate PacSci drive.. I'm sure they have enough torque for a big router. For one thing, they are delivering the rated torque you list at 3000 rpm, so you can gear it down if you want. Peak torque is 39 in-lb, so that's quite a bit more. |

| Unterhaus, Thanks for the reply! I'll check into trying to find some drives for these if I can get them at a reasonable price. If not, I'll keep scrounging.. Thanks again.....

| Well, I got lucky and scored these at a pretty good price. Was wondering if anyone had a source for drives for these particular motors before I started looking around?
