Hi all, have been runing 3 axs mill on and off for a year or so, short time,short runs. started a long job monday and work fine,tuesday late had afault,shutdown, was late and warm so shutdown. wednesday worked fine till about 10, fault again. took a break,worked a few minutes, fault again. X motor is hot.let cool, works fine a few minutes then faults again.Where do i start ? Mach2,Geckos320,Amtek motors 3axs. any help would be appreated. Bear. |

| What gets hot? Can you leave you hand on the Gecko's for 2 sec without pulling it off from pain? Fans are magic things. Even small amounts of airflow make a big difference. If the motors are getting very hot then the encoder electronics may be the problem. You can track it down or you can just imporve the cooling to the component that is faulting. It sounds like a component is breaking down from the heat. I say that since it ran long jobs Monday and Tuesday but started to cause problems. Heat is rough on electronics. |
