    Unterhaus,
Are you interested in parting with it? I may have found (1) other for sale, and I would like to have a matching pair for my CNC project. I have searched everywhere for specs. It is a shame that Rockwell does not make the old Electrocraft catalogs available online.

From my understanding, Rockwell purchased Reliance some years ago. Rockwell announced a couple of years ago that they were going to stop supporting the Electrocraft brushed-motors.

Here you go......I am guessing the E728 fell into this discontinuance too; since it is no-longer listed in their current catalog.

And here is where Rockwell became the parent company:

I'd certainly be open for offers on mine. What do people do about the tach?

I usually just take the brushes out and use Torque mode amplifiers, it is usually a pain to remove the tach entirely.

Those are some pretty serious motors (36 in-lb cont.). I had no idea that they were that BIG. I think they will be a little over-kill for my BP Boss retrofit, and may be too large for my Geckos to run. Since they do not have a shaft on the backside, it would be difficult to mount encoders on them. Maybe it would be better to mount the encoders on the ballscrews instead and just leave the tach disconnected? My current set-up only has a 56V power supply, which will limit the speed quite a bit too. Your thoughts Al?

At 56v those motors would still probabally give you enough torque, they are pretty big, I thought mine on my Excello (same as BP) were large, they are 27 in-lb.
If they have no rear shaft, it might be possible to remove the tach and fit through-hole encoders.
