I heard that it may be possible to bench test my servos by means of a car battery.If so can someone please explain it to me?Thanks Chris  |

| Just Connect the armature wires, black and red, the tach can be checked by voltage reading which will reverse polarity when the motor leads are reversed. What are you testing for? The encoder is a bit more involved. Al.

| I dont have power to the machine just yet,and need to change the board."Board is fried"They suggested that the servos be tested first to ensure that they dont short the new board.Thanks Chris |

| Check the brushes, remove them and blow the carbon out, or better still remove the rear end plate to expose the commutator and brushes and inspect both. If you run it with auto battery, use ampmeter to check current, should not be very high off load at 12v. Al.

| 12 volt car battery did just fine to test servos.Thanks Chris |
