Sanyo p5 servo

Has anyone got the Sanyo P5 1kw servos from surplus center running. I am looking for drives to run these motors.

Yes, as Ger21 pointed to in the other thread, I am using the P5 1kw motors on my cnc mill x axis (which has a 500+lb table) with a Pixie controller (www.skyko.com) and a analog input servo amplifier (similar to an AMC B25A20AC). My x axis rapids went from an unreliable 120IPM with the old 400 watt Fanuc 0M motor to over 600IPM with arm ripping accelerations with the P5 1kw. I really really wish I had bought 60 instead of 6!

I don't think the other thread has a link to the video of my table moving using the P5 and the Pixie controller, so here it is:

Thanks for the information. Were do I find some of these amplifiers? I am not really sure what amlifiers are compatiable with these servos. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Also, Rutex has tested the P5's with their drives and said they work very well. But, I don't know of anyone using them.

Yes, I do remember about the rutex drives. Shure would like to see the results of the testing. Was there a problem with the rutex drives and contolling them with Machx?

Now that you mention it, there might be an issue with the encoder counts being very high, and not being able to get steps fast enough from Mach3. You might have to go with Mach4 and a Grex to drive the Rutex's when it's finished. I have 5 of those motors myself, and that's the route I'll probably take when I get around to using them.

Both Rutex and the Pixie have built in step multiply, which can help somewhat. Certainly the Grex will be nice when it is fully ready.

What are you planning to do for a motor power supply? The P5's run about 4000rpm off of rectified and filtered AC (such as with an AMC B25A20AC), which is around 155VDC. The new Rutex drives are good to 200 volts DC, right?

I was also planning on using the grex and MachIV. I think the rutex would be a good reasonably priced drive. I am not an enginner or such in the electronic catagory, so relying on expertise from others. There was some questions I believe from this forum, wether or not the rutex would be a good match. I also have some power supply questions such as how to go about building one for these motors and the rutex drives.
I take it that the grex is compatible with the rutex drives, the grex just ouputing the step and direction to the rutex drives.
Thanks

the rutex will work but the board is rated at 100v/20amp continious. and they suggest 80v for optimum performance.
