    Question can brushless drive drive brushed motors ?

    can they ?
    any restrictions ?
    what about the 3 phase brushless drive, can they be used as well ?

    Some drives can run brushed and brushless, but generally i would say most dont.

    There are a few manufacturers that state this in their spec. for example you can do this on Aerotech, Copley Controls and A-M-C amp for just a few.
    These are Brushless DC 4 quadrant PWM drives and generally you place the commution setting to 60° and use the U V phases, I have used the above drives in this manner and they work fine.
