Hi all I have seen some Galil MSA 12-80 dc servo amps at $179. They are rated at 12amps continuous / 25amps peak output ,and seem ideal for my project. But the Gecko 340 is rated at 20amps (at only $145), is this output continuous or peak? Which mode do the Gecko drives operate in? The MSA 12-80 drives require tacho feedback so I assume these operate in velocity mode. The Gecko drives have encoder feedback so is this for position, velocity, or torque mode? My position encoders connect to the controller. Which drive will provide the most power and a constant speed? advise appreciated thanks mike

| The Galil MSA 12-80 is AMC amplifier 25A8, they do not require tach feedback if used in voltage or current mode. They are 25amp peak and 12.5A continuous. They are however analogue control, not step and direction. BTW $179 is a little high if they are used amps. Al.
