Hi to all you folks out there!
After having built my first 4 axis cnc router a couple of years ago, I am gathering technical information and materials for my second 5 axis build. I already have most of the materials required, but am a bit uncomfortable about selecting the ideal servo drives for reason that I have originally started off with 4 Rutex R990 servo drives + motherboard which could be expanded up to 6 axis (given another set of servo driver + motherboard and 2 printer ports), which I have found very robust and relaible. Now that I have come to consider R20xx drives with USB connection, I have been told that these will probably not be produced and on the otherhand the R990 are no longer available on the market. I do not know what is the general opinion / feeling about the R990 drivers but for me these where reasonable priced for the outstanding performance considering that these were meant for the hobbyist!
Anyway, since these type are no longer available, I have started looking at other products / suppliers (like Granite, Larken etc) out there and some of them claim to have advantages over others which is quite confusing, therefore I kindly ask for the general experience with other reliable dc servo drives with similaritie to the Rutex R990 or later types which can cater for 5 axis.
Regards
