Does any one know what could be stopping my yaskawa drive from starting?
i took it out of the machine because of a F-300 alarm had it repaired and now the spindle wont run.
no alarms no apparent faults and i press cycle start and the program runs fine with the x & z axes working fine. the spindle forward button lights up when you press it but no spindle rotation.
on the digital keypad on the drive the stop light is on all the time, i wonder if the repairer has stopped the unit from working for testing purposes.

See if there is a light on that says local. I'm guessing the repairer put it in local mode to run off the keypad. You need to be in remote.

hello underthetire you were right but there wasnt a light on,
above plug CN1 there is 3 sets of pins 0 comm,+24 comm & ext comm the short bars or jumpers was on the 0 comm and they needed to be on the ext comm so i moved them and within 20 minutes we were back in production,
