Need help with a replacement for this Servo Motor

    Hi Folks,

I just bought this beautiful Indexing Rotary Table for $100.00 that I plan to use for my fourth axis on my new milling machine. I need some help identifying a replacement stepper motor for the servo that came with it. It will be driven by my Gecko G540. Unfortunately the servo pictured, does not seem to be a standard NEMA34 or NEMA23.

Shaft size: 10.75mm (as measured with my calipers)
    Distance between mounting holes: 52mm
    Housing size: 70mm

The motor's shaft connects to a coupler with a gear on the end, and that gear mates with a Neugart planetary gear as seen in the photos. I'd prefer to find a drop in replacement motor, rather than trying to fabricate an adapter plate and shaft coupler. The motor would also have to be driven by my Gecko G540, which has a max current limit of 3.5A. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Shawn

The label states IEC 34. This is a metric frame size motor. I believe that the peak torque Mo is 1.6Nm which is ~ 226.560 Oz/In. This should help in selecting a stepper motor. You will probably have to machine an adapter to couple the nema 23 or 34 stepper motor. You stated that the housing is 70mm. This is probably closer to a nema 23 frame size. You should be able to find a stepper motor with this amount of torque.

    Hope this helps,

    Iron-Man,

Thanks for the info. I'll try to hunt down an adapter, or perhaps find someone to build it for me.
