    Yaskawa Motor

Hello underthetire and everyone else, I am new but not new to the forum just don't post alot. Reading your discussion on motors and positioning, I have a customer with a Hurco Hawk 40 bad Yaxis motor can't be rebuilt anymore, and motor obsolete could use a little bit of guidance on retrofit. Excuse me motor is available in 16 wks from factory customer not happy. can anyone help out with maybe a motor or direction on retro.

Original motor: Yaskawa# SGMG-05K3A-YA11 ac servo.

Feedback from a few suppliers contacted said special build don't know why though..
Any help would be appreciated Thanks to all

I looked through my SGM motor manual, but there is no SGMG version in there, but there are so many options you would need to know exactly what you have in the way of feedback devices etc.
Did you try contacting Yaskawa, they may be able to make a recommendation on a later model, it may require changing the drive also, maybe?
IIRC this is Hurco's own controller on this machine?
