I have finally decided that i will go with AMC 's 16A20AC drivers to power my servos. When i was talking to the tech at AMC he mentioned that I would need a position controller, being new at this, is that the same as a breakout board? I want to keep everything in the industrial category, so can anyone recommend what I need as this position controller in a more industrial product? Thanks |

| Servo position control depends on feedback from the part in motion. This is generally done with a linear or rotary encoder connected back to the motion controller. With the 16A20AC drive, you will need an analog signal to the drive which is supplied by a motion control board. A simple Break Out Board only supplies digital signals. Take a look at the diagram on the lower right of the first page on this datasheet to get the basic idea... http://www.pmdcorp.com/downloads/Pro..._Datasheet.pdf Steve Last edited by vger; 06-15-2011 at 07:30 AM.
