I have electrocraft servos on my Hurco. What are the identification of these wires? The small wrapped wires go to the encoder. Also, I was wondering about these brushes???? There are (4) large caps with a brush under each. They are 90*deg spaced around the motor. I want to take these out and clean them and blow out all of the carbon. The other one ( green arrow) must be the tach brush. I was wanting to remove the tach brush & spring, since it won't be used. I don't want it wearing out and ruining the armature. Will the motor run ok with out the tach brush? Here is the name plate on the motor if needed. Thanks, JAckal

| I would think the four are Tach pair and motor pair? If so it will be easy to check, either with a resistance check to a brush holder or check resistance to isolate each pair and then take the Tach brushes out and see which pair is now open. The tach is not needed with Torque mode amps, It is OK to remove the brushes. Al.

| Thanks Al, I checked and the blue & white wires are for the tach. The od of the insulation is the same as black & red ones, but the wire gauge is smaller. After removing the brush they are open now. Just leaving this info in case anyone else needs to know. JAckal

| The problem is that Electro-Craft made many of these type of motors for OEM's with their in-house part No, so the specs are not always that easy to come by. Al.
