I currently have a 3'X6' Gantry router and the bug has bitten me. I"m now working on new project that is going to be running in a noise sensitive location. My first thought was to go with some servos to cut down on the noise. I really don't need much torque or speed for this application so i'm hopeful that I can keep this somewhat inexpensive. It is only a two axis setup further simplifying things. Any suggestions on sources of drives or DC motors? This is the first time i've even thought about going to Servos so i'm looking for any advice at all. From the looks of it I was leaning towards driving them with EMC2 but could easily be convinced otherwise. |

| If going with EMC, you can get a servo card and use analogue drives such as Advanced Motion Controls, DC motors are usually plentiful on ebay, many new or NOS. Al.
