dear sjh, pl follow the following steps: identify the following : 1.the number of pulses on the disc( some marking will be definetly there) 2.the bore size 3.The operating voltage and type of interface of the encoder. In case you have the number signal lines connected between the drive and encoder its much easier to identify. Once you have identified then approach encoder supplier across for a the best matching encoder. All the very best |

| Its an AC servo motor and the commutation pulses are automatically aligned when you replace the encoder, See this recent posting for the details on the encoder coupler. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/mazak_...oud_noice.html They are hard to sub as they are proprietary to Mitsubishi. Al.
